EXMAR Ship Management is a maritime company ensuring 24/7 operations of specialized floating assets. We deliver tailor-made technical and crewing services, combining maritime and offshore know-how. We share our experience and expertise with owners looking for a long-term partnership to manage their precious assets.
The vessels and units we manage require staff who are not only technically best-in-class, but who also understand our clients’ needs and have the flexibility and skill to deliver. To keep personal contact and open communication between ship and shore, we have organized our company with dedicated Business Units.
Every unit has a team with technical, marine, purchasing, crewing and financial colleagues who jointly serve each fleet.
We encourage sea staff to regularly work ashore, whilst actively ensuring our shore staff are given the chance to work on board. We also highly value the many long-serving seafarers who permanently join the shore team to apply their practical knowledge and expertise.
Over thirty years of know-how and a highly innovative approach permit us to partner in a rather unique way with our clients.
In the complex world of LPG and LNG, we have developed specialized services for clients looking to find innovative means of storing, transporting and transshipping gas and chemicals in both liquefied and gaseous states. Having pioneered the regasification process at sea and also performed the first commercial ship-to-ship LNG transfer, we are now preparing to operate the world’s first barge-based floating liquefaction, regasification and storage units.
We also constantly innovate in the way we manage assets operating in extreme conditions, from LPG vessels trading in the hostile conditions of the North Sea to offshore barges and FPSOs off the African coast.
We look at exactly how our customers would like to work with us, and then adapt our organization to meet those needs. We assign our professionals to work as part of their organization at their request.
We have jointly managed construction at the yard and assisted in the delivery, testing and commissioning of our customers’ vessels and units. We have also adapted our own internal processes to match customer needs, and obtained re-certification from Class within months of implementation.
If you visit us in our headquarters in Belgium, you will see a wealth of nationalities amongst crewing, purchasing and finance colleagues as well as our highly-qualified superintendents.
At sea we employ over 1,500 seafarers of 24 different nationalities. We recruit and train cadets from top academies and have long-term partnerships with crewing agencies in the Ukraine, Croatia, Latvia Jamaica and the Philippines, with many of their Junior Officers who joined us on board many years ago now coming through the ranks to become Officers, Masters and Engineers.
In addition, we have welcomed and brought in crews from our customers into our management, fully integrating them with support from multi-lingual staff on shore.
We take pride in the fact that we are a multinational, multicultural environment where we encourage everyone to deploy and develop their talents with respect for each other.
Our know-how and innovative approach towards crewing, operating and maintaining LPG, LNG and Offshore units enables us to partner with external clients in a rather unique way compared to a traditional customer relationship between ship owner and ship management services provider. We strongly believe in combining individual strengths to achieve better results, both within and outside our company. Our innovative technical specialists use continuous improvement methods to create efficiency and value in their productive relationships with our customers, who are typically looking for a strategic partnership over a long period of time.
