The Offshore Services Business Unit operates and maintains a varied range of floating offshore assets for the oil and gas industry.
Offshore Services has been supporting offshore development projects in West Africa with operational and technical services for the accommodation and work barges Nunce and Wariboko. The team relocates, operates and maintains the barges in often tough marine environments and provides safety, logistics, accommodation and food for 300 or more offshore staff and constructions workers on each unit.
EXMAR Ship Management provides a dedicated crew and shore team to operate and maintain EXMAR’s barge-based liquefaction unit Caribbean FLNG. The team commissioned the unit in 2016 and successfully completed performance-tests at the Wison shipyard in Nantong, China. Caribbean FLNG will have a liquefaction capacity of approximately 0.5 million tons per annum of LNG and an LNG storage volume of 16,100 m³.
EXMAR Ship Management is also looking forward to operate the world’s first barge-based Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), which EXMAR is currently building at the same shipyard in China. The 26,230 m³ regasification barge is expected to be delivered in 2017.
Since 2010 EXMAR Ship Management has been providing services for FSRU Toscana, a former conventional LNG carrier which was converted into a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit. It is permanently moored off the coast of Italy and operated and maintained through our joint venture EXMAR Cosulich Offshore Services (ECOS). ECOS provided technical consultancy during the conversion and also towed the FSRU through the Suez Canal from the dry dock facilities in Dubai to its final destination.
